Keeping Busy
I started writing websites because I believed my career as a competitive bowler may soon end.
I am a bowler, and for a short time in the 1980s, I competed on the PBA National Tour.
Knee Injury
Unfortunately for me, or maybe fortunately, a knee injury took me off the tour. It might have been a blessing in disguise because, in hindsight, I wasn't good enough to make enough money to retire on. So I was forced to go back to a regular job and earn three retirement checks.
I continued to compete on the PBA Regional Tour before retiring and opening several Bowling Pro Shops in Reno and Sparks, NV.
It was a major concern because I wondered how I would keep myself occupied if I could no longer bowl.
In the early days, there were five or six search engines, and it was relatively easy to get a high ranking if you applied the appropriate SEO techniques, and I could get any website listed in one of those search engines.
Knee Problems (Again)
About In 1993, my left knee (the sliding one) started to give out. After three bowling games, I couldn't bowl for 2-3 days because of the pain.It was a major concern because I wondered how I would keep myself occupied if I could no longer bowl.
Selling On the Internet
This It was around the time when the internet was emerging, and it became the main place to market and sell opportunities and products, as long as you had a website. In the early days, there were five or six search engines, and it was relatively easy to get a high ranking if you applied the appropriate SEO techniques, and I could get any website listed in one of those search engines.
And thus began my journey to learn how to build and promote websites online.
My first complete website was Hartfelt's 101 Dumb Blonde Jokes, which I wrote about in 1999. It is still online, but I haven't updated it lately.

Still Involved In Bowling
Of course, since bowling has been my passion for over 50 years, you gotta believe I would have a few websites related to bowling.
The current ones are for the local bowling alley, SierraViewLanes, in Gardnerville, NV, and PlayersProShop, our Pro Shop inside the bowling alley.
There are a couple of related websites, WeTeachBowling and JrProShop, but they are just spin-offs of the Players website.
But I have a humor section on this website. Why? Just because I want to. It's mostly about Men vs Women, Men & Dogs, and Weird and Ugly airplanes of the world.
I'll add a few more when I get the urge.

Aliens In Nevada
We stopped for gas on the way back from a bowling tournament in Las Vegas a few years ago, and I noticed this sign.
I took it as proof that aliens do exist.
Whether or not they come in peace, I can't say, since I didn't investigate further.
My friends did so, but they refused to divulge any details.
